Pan Seared Ahi Tuna steaks with
Chipotle-Apricot Glaze
Prep Time: 30 Minutes
Yields: 4 Servings
Ingredients:
4 medium size sashimi grade Tuna steaks
1 (12-ounce) jar apricot jam
1 tbsp chipotle peppers de-seeded and minced
Ragin Blaze Cajun Seasoning
minced garlic
sesame seeds
cracked black pepper corn
chopped cilantro or green onions to garnish
6 tbsps canola oil
Method:
In a small saucepan, combine jam, garlic and chipotle
peppers and bring to a simmer. Cook 5 minutes then remove
from heat and set the glaze aside.
Then in a medium size frying pan, add canola oil to pan and
heat on medium high temperature. Season tuna steaks with
Ragin Blaze Cajun Seasoning, cracked black pepper corn, and
sprinkle sesame seeds on top, pat lightly.
Then sear steaks 30 – 45 seconds on each side depending on
tuna serving preference. Do not overcook. Remove tuna steaks
from frying pan and let rest 5 minutes.
To serve, slice steaks into thin pieces and top with
Chipotle Apricot glaze. Garnish with cilantro or green
onions and serve with wild grain rice and your favorite
grilled vegetables. |
